Tokyo street
racer Shogo has a really big problem. His friend Shinji has stolen a
prototype motorcycle/combat armor from the Japanese government. When
Shinji is killed, Shogo takes the bike and goes on the lam. No
matter what course he takes to expose this military secret, the special
forces are ready for him.
Things get even more difficult when he discovers that the entire city of Tokyo is inside a giant space ship. He also learns that the ship is under attack from another group of humans. BD, leader of the Japanese Special Forces wants the motorcycle to deactivate the ships computer, Bahamut. If they don't succeed, the human race is doomed because Bahamut is unable to defend the ship.
Shogo is faced with two choices; return to his old life, or learn the truth about "Megazone 23".
Pandy and Retro are two clones who have just woken up from a deep sleep
with no memories. Or, their Yakuza Bosses that have just woken up
from a deep sleep. Actually, their spies that have just woken
up. What ever they are, it's not important.
What is important is that they have just been arrested and sent to the DL prison on the Moon. In just one day, they learn the joys of force feeding, tubes sucking out their poop, and how to have sex in a straight jacket. They also have to deal with cruel guards, insane genetic experiments, and petulant wardens.
So, the only thing left to do is escape. Should be no problem for a couple of...whatever they are.
Right?
By 1999, giant robots called Labors were being used for construction
and military applications all
over the world. The Tokyo Police Department created their own labor
force, Special Vehicle
Division 2, to combat rogue labors. SVD 2 has been very busy as
of late. Labor crimes have been on the increase. It seems to be tied
to the installation of a new operating system called H.O.S.
Conducting his own investigation, Captain Goto of SVD 2 quickly learns that the chief programmer of H.O.S. , E. Hoba, had a plan that will bring Tokyo to it's knees.
Now, the members of SVD 2 have very little time before thousands of rogue Labors decimate the city.
In the 23rd
century, mankind has finally eliminated war through the use of genetic
engineering. This peaceful society of 9 women to every man is based
upon color coded gene types and abilities or "Skills".
5 years ago, an mysterious ring appeared in Earth orbit. Apparently harmless, it is viewed as orbital nuisance. Under the auspices of the Integrated Earth Organization, Lord Sergi Sneak has been assigned to investigate and remove the ring. He sends Lady Mir, considered the pinnacle of genetic engineering, on a survey mission. At the same time, Lt. Mika Seito has arrived at a space station, in route to her next assignment, the Bilkis. Mika is considered a bit of a primitive, due to her White gene type. The only one she gets along with is Sofia, who has also been assigned to the Bilkis.
During the survey on the ring, Lady Mir is attacked by terrorists. During the battle, something triggers the ring, causing it to fire on California. With the Earth Government in disarray, Lord Sneak decides to disobey orders and boards the Bilkis, intending to find the creators of the ring, identified as Oberus and destroy them.
Once on board the Bilks, Mika and the rest of the crew learn about the "Shaft", a strange robotic looking device. It seems that Mika, Sofia, and Lady Mir have been chosen as possible pilot candidates. Unfortunately, the Shaft is full of computer bugs, causing it to shut down at the most inopportune moments. Mika must now prove herself capable of piloting the Shaft before Lady Mir has her way and takes it from her.
Hana, Gin and Kiyuki are three homeless people living on the streets of
Tokyo. While looking through the trash for a Christmas present, the three of them discover an abandoned baby. Taking it back
to their shack, the three argue about what they are going to do. Hana
decides that they are going to find the kids mother. Calling the baby Kiyoko, they head out into the
vast world of Tokyo.
As they travel, they encounter a strange and interesting group of people who help them on their quest. Sending everything from gangsters to transvestite angels in their path, it seems that God is guiding their journey.
Through Kiyoko, they learn that just because you throw your life away, doesn't mean that it's not worth saving.
