This CD is a good first album, but the artist needs time to grow into the music she has the voice to sing.

Nami Tamaki

Greeting

Review by: Dan Womack

Album

Company: Tofu Records

CD Length: approx 60 min

Rated: PG (subject mater)

EXTERNAL EXAM

From Tofu Records comes the first album of J-Pop super star, Nami Tamaki.  "greeting" features 13 dance hits by this popular singer, including her hit songs "Believe" and "Realize" from "Gundam Seed"!  Full of energy and danceable tracks, Nami Tamaki's "greeting" is your gateway into the world of J-Pop.

FINAL EXAM:

"greeting" is the debut album of popular songstress Nami Tamaki.  This young lady (and I do mean young) was selected to sing not one but two songs for the up coming Anime "MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED".  This is very impressive considering that she is younger than the series itself!  She is a talented 15 years old singer with an opportunity to really grow in the JPOP field.

Now that you are here, let's talk about the CD and what makes it what it is!

Best track

This song is good, with a strong use of synthesizers typical of most Eurobeat tunes.  It starts with lonely vocals then moves into pure Eurobeat.  The song would fit in quite nicely with the early songs of Ayumi Hamasaki.

Worst Track

Be Positive <Hikari no Naka de kagayaite>: This is boring!  She is trying to do a romantic song but it is falling on deaf ears. It's not bad, but it doesn't make me feel anything .  I just want to press the forward button. NEXT!!!!!

Perfect for Fans of:

Ayumi Hamasaki, MAX, TM Revolution, Romanctic MOde

This CD is a good first album, but the artist needs time to grow into the music she has the voice to sing.  I find that young girls don't sing well because I don't feel the true emotion coming from their voice.  They haven't had true love or heartbreak and they don't sing with the emotion needed.  With time, and some patience,  she will be something big in a few years. So, pick up Nami Tamaki's "greeting" so that in 5 years you can say "I remember when she first started!"
