EXTERNAL EXAM

10 years ago, Dr. Ryuji Hirasaka left the medical profession after a certain "incident" involving a woman named Narumi Jinguji. Out of the blue, he receives a job offer at Saint Juliana's. Upon his arrival, he discovers that the head of the hospital is none other than Narumi. She tells him that the reason he is there is to help train nurses to "pleasure" certain clients. Eager to accept the job, he and Narumi seal the deal with an "oral" agreement.

As Narumi e-mails him each new "trainee", Hirasaka begins the training process by finding out their dirty little secrets. He then forces them to his will, making them obedient and willing sex slaves.

What goes around comes around, and Dr. Ryuji is about to learn what happens when you piss on err I mean piss off the nursing staff.

DVD VISION TEST

VIDEO: The video quality is much improved from volume one, The wrinkling that plagued the first volume is gone. This is a crisp and clear transfer.

AUDIO: The audio for both the English and Japanese are standard 2.0. While the Japanese is louder in volume, the English is softer in tone. There isn't a lot of surround sound bits in this, but enough to make the moans and groans sound better than real life.

EDITS: None that we noticed, but then we missed the edits on volume 1. Anime 18 has removed the pixels around the "naughty bits", giving us men a real great view!

EXTRAS: We get all of the scenes that were omitted from volume 1, art gallery, storyboards, character designs, a brief video essay on "Anime Art form", and a couple of promotional trailers.

WIDESCREEN REVIEW

STORY: Well, there is not much on plot (duh, it's porn). The situations are interesting, and the sex scenes are well done. We finally get the answers to all of our questions, and the ending is about what you expected. Ryo Saga's script is typical erotic anime. Thank god there are no tentacles in this one.

ACTING: Pretty darn good, compared to other hentai releases. Bjorkin Stiles is perfect as the always horny, very evil Dr Hirasaka. I love Lynna Dunham as Ren. Her voice is sexy, and her moans really get me in the mood. The same goes for Irie as Narumi. I would love to see what these lovely ladies look like.

Japanese wise, I prefer Nana Aikawa as Remi. Her voice is very sexy. As with most Japanese girls, Yuu Mikage is a little too high pitched for my tastes.

SEX SCENES: There is missionary, S&M, oral, anal, reverse cow girl, one 69, some vibrator use, lubrication with natto beans, and a few Kama Sutra moves.

But wait, that's not all. We also have a new meaning for scrambled eggs, lots of defecation, and some girl on girl action!

FINAL EXAM

I can see why Anime 18 decided not to release episodes 4 and 5. There is a lot of stuff I never thought I would ever see in a porno. Not only do we have our regular sexual escapades, but there are tons of scenes that involve defecation, urination, various food stuffs (don't ask), and other really, really nasty stuff.

There will be many times you will find yourself going "Damn!" at the events that will literally explode in front of you. While you can see the ending coming a mile away, it will still take you by surprise.

I am not big on the whole pooper shoot thing, but I will admit, when it happens, the farting sound effect makes me laugh. Never I have I ever heard gas passing used to such great effect in an adult film.

I actually feel sorry for the character of Hikaru Kodama in episode 4. Out of all the nurses in this series, her training is rather harsh. Forcing her to use dildos, chastity belts, and various food products, all the while beating her, really didn't do it for me. That and her pooping eggs (again, don't ask).

The dialogue is typical porn dialogue, but there is not a lot of use of the "f-word", which is nicer than most. The acting is better than most porn movies, and Bjorkin Stiles really gets into the devilish mood of his character.

If you know anything about the adult film industry in Japan, all shots below the waist were covered in pixels. If you know anything about the US adult film industry, they spend most of their time down south. So Anime 18 has removed the pixels, and what a difference it makes. The animators went into a lot of detail, despite knowing that it would be covered up. The only thing odd is the pubic hair on the men. It looks like some one needs to mow the grass.

The conclusion to Night Shift Nurses is pretty raw, if you pardon the pun. For those of you who have a weak constitution, stick with volume one. If you are dying to find out what happens, and are okay with watching some pretty sick stuff, pick up Night Shift Nurses: RN's Revenge. You will never look at hard boiled eggs in the same way again.
