SUMMARY
If you were a
vampire, how would you survive in the modern world? Hold a job, deal with
politicians, and feast on human prey?
Lilith Silver is one vampire who has answered that question. She became a
hit-woman. This way, she can kill men to feed her hunger, and make money
while doing it. She is known as "The Angel of Death", and she is
very sought after. Her latest series of jobs is to hunt down and kill the
members of a shadow organizationand take their rings.
Now, things have gone wrong. The police and the
remaining members of the organization are after her. Lilith must figure
out who is the leader, stop the policeman working for the group, and
survive the trap planned for her.
Nothing that a hot and sexy vampire killer can't handle.
DVD VISION TEST
VIDEO: Very nice video despite the source. While there
are no defects, color bleeds, or pixels, the source material is a little
grainy, despite it being intentional in some places.
AUDIO: Pretty decent for a 2.0 mix. The music comes from the sides, while
the dialogue comes from the front. It is not really made with surround
sound, so don't expect a whole hell of a lot.
EDITS: If there are edits, I would be hard pressed to find them. This
movie is very graphic and has a lot of adult situations, so if there were
edits, it would be for pacing purposes.
EXTRAS: Some pictures and a text article about Femme Fatal.
WIDESCREEN REVIEW
STORY: If you
are looking for an original screenplay, look elsewhere. Jake West's script
is just one more rehashed take on the vampire genre. Despite this, it is
pretty solid, and doesn't’t meander like other B-films. There is a twist
at the end that is truly unexpected. Fair due to Jake West. Any guy who
writes a movie about a vampire hit-woman must have a good sense of humor.
ACTING: Ahh, well. Eileen Daly is truly the Julie Strain
of the United Kingdom. Not a bad actor, not a great one, but a fun actor
none the less. She plays her part to the
max, and has a blast doing it. The rest of the cast,
Christopher Adamson as the head vampire is over the top, and Jonathon
Coote is the most obnoxious cop to ever piss you off. No one takes the
film seriously, but you can tell they are having a good time.
FAN SERVICE: Plenty. Lilith is always in tight leather
and latex, her magnificent breast always featured. There is the big
lesbian scene as well. There is also a special appearance by David Warbeck
who died after filming.
CONCLUSION
Seeing the cover for Razor Blade Smile on the horror
shelf at my local video store, I had to see it. This movie has three
things I love, Vampires, beautiful women, and guns. Not expecting a lot, I
took it home.
This movie is a blast! It is a fun, entertaining, and whacked out film. It
felt like an episode of Doctor Who on E with a little of X-file paranoia
thrown in. It is truly a B movie.
Eileen Daily has some great potential. She is sexy, smart, and strong. She
will definite appeal to the Julie Strain crowd. Her voice alone will keep
her employed for years to come. As soon as she learns how to shoot, she
will be the new B-Queen of the world.
I really can't say too much bad about this movie. Fortunately, I do
not expect every movie to be dramatic, well acted, or serious. This movie
is none of that, so those looking for something in the same vein as
"Ultraviolet" will need to pass on this one. While it may not be
original, it is very stylish, and that is all it was supposed to be.
There
a couple of things that may annoy some viewers. The fact that Lilith can't
shoot straight, and that all the vampires hiss constantly. Also, their
vampire teeth are a little too big for their mouths, and so they lisp a
little if they speak with them in.
If you are a vampire or female assassin enthusiasts, you can not miss this
movie. Same goes for the bad movie folks. Just leave your brain and your
jaded views in your coffin.
