Elufina, the beautiful “White Jewel of the Kingdom”, is getting ready to marry Kwan, a handsome prince from a neighboring kingdom. Her wedding plans are ruined when another prince, Viceard or known as Vice, defeats Kwan in battle and takes over Elufinas’ kingdom. Now he plans to create his own kingdom of demented lust. All of the town’s men are forcibly removed; the women are left behind, forced to service his vile desires.

With the threat of Vice and his army destroying her land, Elufina submits to the humiliating and bizarre sexual demands of her new master.

DVD VISION TEST

VIDEO: The transfer of this series is done well with clear and crisp imagery for the majority of the scenes. Some of the sex scenes have a softer look which adds mood to the experience of viewing it. The combination of traditional and digital animation is shown well here with no distraction such as smudging, pixels, or winkles.

AUDIO: Dolby 2.0 is used for both the English dubbed and Japanese subtitled tracks. The Japanese track has more volume during the sex scenes. Besides this, both tracks are clear and easy to listen to.

EDITS: No questionable edits.

EXTRAS: There are hardly any. The only extras on this DVD are a set of four trailers from other Kitty Media releases.

WIDESCREEN REVIEW

STORY: Servant Princess is one of the titles that have a medieval theme intertwined with domination and bondage. This is the story of Elufina, a beautiful princess, who is supposed to marry the handsome Prince Kwan, but instead is taken over by Prince Vice. Vice pushes Elufina, her maid, Ann, and her entire kingdom into nothing more than sex fiends. Series of situations eventually expose the true nature of the characters and slowly present a light plot of something that resembles more of a dramatic tragedy than traditional erotica.

ACTING: The Japanese voice actors are not listed on the DVD. This is not uncommon mostly because the traditional voice actors not wanting their name to be associated with this type of anime. However, they deserve credit as their acting is much more believable, and fuller in volume than the English dub cast. All of the core characters are performed well and much more enjoyable to watch.

Out of the English dubbed track, Vice, played by Mike Hunter, and Kwan, played by Thad Michels, performed the best out of the cast. Since they are opposite characters, their voices are very different in tone, thus easy to distinguish. Vice’s character is pushed almost to the point where Mike Hunter tried almost too hard. There is nothing wrong with this, but it is almost to edge of becoming humorous.

The reason the female cast doesn’t stand out is that all of the women sound the same. The difference between Elufina and Ann is only minor details in volume. It gets tiring, hearing the same voice, especially in orgasm, over and over again.

SEX SCENES: Oral sex makes a powerful presence here and is standard in all scenes. There is also missionary, doggie-style, girl on girl, bondage with ropes, discipline with whips, use of toys, one threesome, one gangbang, and lots of urination.

FINAL EXAM

Servant Princess, or Elufina as it is known in Japan, is fairly popular with Hentai fans and it is easy to see why. Elufina is designed more beautifully than any other character in this series thus placing her in a major pipeline of male fantasy. Combined with some damn hot sex scenes, and you have one of the hottest hentai titles released in the US.

In a kingdom where there is nothing but women, and their beautiful princess forced to submit to the male tyrants, Servant Princess is fulfills the domination fantasy quite well. Prince Vice has no problem taking control. He forces all the women to submit to the men and to make money off sex. He also forces all of the women to urinate wherever they are in public. It’s only a matter of time before orgies appear everywhere and puddles of urine fill up the streets. Thankfully, there is no defecation to make this title go in the same territory as Night Shift Nurses.

Like the majority of current hentai releases, the sexual situations take up most of the running time. Vice manipulates Elufina and her maid, Ann, so well that both women end up opposites of each other. Ann ends up wanting what her mistress wants and doing some naughty things to Elufina’s beau, Kwan. However, karma doesn’t work too well here, for even the characters that are innocent are punished just as mercilessly as those that are evil. Not surprisingly, Vice becomes Elufina’s object of desire; despite the activities he makes her do. Kwan represents Elufina’s hope through the ever-increasing mediocre story. He remains the only one who questions the changing attitudes in the women.

It is preferred that the viewer watches the Japanese track with the subtitles. The English dubbed track doesn’t change the story, but makes the characters more annoying than desired. Elufina sounds like a stuck up valley girl with the additions of “I mean…really” and “I really mean it.” During emotionally heavy scenes, those phrases just ruin it. The men aren’t any different. It becomes a slight annoyance when Kwan is being forced into sex by Elufina or Ann and he says, “What are you doing?” about five times per sex scene. Vice overuses nearly all profanities and says them with such force, it sounds like the voice actor is just trying too hard.

The animation quality is smooth with only one instance of choppiness. There are times when the active animation is too simple when compared to the detailed background, making the scene elements clash and look awkward. During the sex scenes, there are hardly any repetitive camera angles of the same positions. This is very refreshing and doesn’t adjust the attitude towards the scene of impending sex from eager anticipation to boring repetitiveness. The one piece of animation that becomes awkward to look at is the men’s climax. The same thing happens in nearly all of the scenes in which the climax is sprayed all over the women, in ludicrous amounts, and then is filmed on a still. This means that the climax stays where it is on screen while the woman can be moving away from it. So there can be a puddle of white remaining still in the air while the body is gone. Besides this, Servant princess is good example of both traditional and digital animation in hentai. Character designs are done fairly well, but Elufina is the one that has been given the most attention.

Besides minor animation flaws and a pretty hard English dubbed track, I did enjoy Servant Princess. The sex is done well and with enough detail to satisfy those of us who prefer hardcore hentai. The series is very good at setting the mood, both erotically and then emotionally. Despite enjoying what was being done to Elufina, I really did want her to escape the downward spiral she was getting into. I wanted to see Ann be punished for her treachery and become the kingdom whore. Hentai that creates this kind of empathy (if any) is a rare and good thing. The ending leaves less than to be desired, but is satisfying enough to feel complete. I definitely see more with this series in the future.
