TOP 10 ANIME DVD'S WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE MADE.

We've all had this dream.

You've just finished watching "SPT Layzner" or some such anime that you can't get in the states. After you fall asleep, you dream that you're in the best anime store in the world (the one that has everything), and you happen upon the new release section. Suddenly, you find THE ONE DVD you have been looking for. You take it home, watch it, and then......you wake up. You feel sad because it was only a dream.

Well, after we had our version of this dream (which involved the evil babe from Hurricanger), we decided to do as Freud said and write down our dreams. We even made the covers.

So, DVD Vision Japan is proud to present the "Top 10 Anime DVD's We Would Like To See". While some of them have sort of come true, maybe we can get the anime companies to make the rest of them for us.

So, here we go!

NUMBER 10
Space Cruiser Yamato: Andromeda Rising

HIGHLIGHTS: With the re-birth of all things Leji Matsumodo (Harlock Saga, Queen Esmeraldis), we figure now is the right time for a Yamato side story.

The Andromeda was created to replace the aging Yamato. Now, ironically, The Andromeda is going to be mothballed, making way for the New Yamato. Captain Kodai (daughter of Yuki and Kodai) is ordered to take the Andromeda to The Galactic War Museum on Planet 20.

En-route to Planet 20, they receive a distress call from a Gamalon transport. It seems that the nomadic Selene Empire is causing trouble. While investigating the attack, they discover an attack force heading for Earth. The only thing stopping the Selene is The Andromeda and the collection of old battle ships from the first three major wars. Can the universe unite to fight this new menace?
NUMBER 9
Tokyo Tower's Greatest Explosions

HIGHLIGHTS: From Tenchi Muyo to Phantom Quest Corps, Tokyo Tower has been blown up, knocked down or otherwise destroyed in a huge variety of ways. See over an hour of Tokyo Tower getting blown up, melted into goo, flooded, squashed and used as among other things, a toothpick and a spear. All the best scenes of destruction, anime style!

As an added bonus, a probing 30 minute feature on why Godzilla is so determined to destroy Tokyo Tower and why the Japanese keep rebuilding it.
NUMBER 8 (BURP)
PARASITE EVE

HIGHLIGHTS: Despite the poor showing of Finial Fantasy, the folks at Square Pictures have plenty of completed footage for a Parasite Eve movie. With the voice acting of Sara Michelle Gellar, and sticking closer to the video game source, this movie can be a winner.
Aya Brea is a New York cop. While investigating the bizarre death of the head of an advanced genetics lab, Aya gets involved with Lt. Grey of the US Air Force. He tells her of a strange creature with the power to mutate anything it comes across. Our heroine must join forces with the U.S. Government to try and save New York from being transformed into a hellish version of it's former self.
NUMBER 7
Eretzvaju (Air Tis Va Ju)

Highlights: An anime DVD made exclusively for the Playstaton 2 (you can use it with other DVD players, but you can't access some of the special features), Eretzvaju is a non-stop action film.

Nine powerful psychics have been tapped to fight Queen Yurika of Eretzvaju. The prize? Control of the Universal Balance. The winner can bring peace to all of existence....or enslave it!

Ellie Poros, an ass kicking female gun for hire, is chasing after they psychotic Rain-rikus. Unexpectedly, both she and her prey are drawn into the battle by the Queen herself. Not only must these two fight each other, but they must battle a wide array of heroic saviors and treacherous villains. This battle for the universe can have only one winner!
NUMBER 6
Martian Successor Nadesico: HARMS Way

HIGHLIGHTS: At the end of Nadesico, Hikaru, Ryoko, and Maki, are out of a job. Creating HARM (Hikaru And Ryoko/Maki) these Astevalis pilots hire themselves out for whatever odd jobs they can find.

Hired to trot out Nergal's newest robot, the three pilots get pulled into a plot by renegade Jovan Lizard officers who want their Gekiganger line to be the top company in the robot business. So, what better way to find out who reigns supreme then by starting a knock down robot battle? Three lovely ladies from Gekiganger Powerbots and our darling HARM ladies face off in a no-holds barred fight to the finish. But does Nergal really want their robot to win?
NUMBER 5
Oh My Goddess: Racequeen Heart

HIGHLIGHTS: With the success of the movie, Racequeen Heart would be another super addition to an already top notch series.

Keichi has just gotten his dream summer break job, working at the Custom Classic Super Car Rally in Tokyo. Our young hero is naturally concerned that he won't get to spend any time with Belldandy, yet extremely relieved to get a break from her annoying sisters, Urd and Skuld. However, the Universal Force kicks in again and Keichi learns just how much control over his life it has. Belldandy and her sisters mistakenly enter a Beauty Queen contest and end up as the Nekomi Techs Racequeens! Of course, every guy on the track wants one of the divine sisters and Belldandy is the most sought after!! Driven to distraction , our hero’s summer dreams are rapidly falling to pieces! What's a poor boy to do?

NUMBER 4
Ghost in the Shell: Circuit Weapon

Highlights: Matoko Kusanagi is a member of Section 9, the top secret anti-terrorism unit in Newport City. Her current mission? Working with the members of Horned Owl, the newest SWAT team, and training them on the use of Gegus armors.

Unfortunately, a new "Puppet Master" has risen up, and is hi-jacking armors and computer systems all across the globe. Now Motoko must fight two battles. one against rogue armor and the other on the vast expance of the net. Can she survive them both?

(Looks like they beat us to this one, with "Stand Alone Complex")

NUMBER 3
Star Wars: Episode One-Part 2

HIGHLIGHTS: Japan is the king at taking an established series and creating new story lines (look at Transformers). Now, with permission from Lucasfilm International, and animation from Kia Aysiama and his Studio Tron team, the wonder of Star Wars has moved from live action to the wide open realm of anime!
One month has passed sonce the death of Qui Gon Jin. Obi-Wan and Aniken Skywalker go looking for the young hero's mother back on Tatooine. Unknown to them, a Trade Guild strike team is after the ones who defeated their Naboo attempt. During their search, our heros discover a plot to eliminate the new Chancellor. Meanwhile, Chancellor Palpatine is solidifying his position in the senate by promoting Captain Mof Tarken to Executive In charge of Project Defense Moon, and is cleanising "traitors" from within the senate. Who's behind the assassination plan and will our heros manage to stay one step ahaed of their own deaths to find out?

(With a new CG based film, TV animated series, this wasn't as far off as we thought this idea up in 2002)

NUMBER 2
Super Cybernetic Detective Kiyone

HIGHLIGHTS: Well know for re-using characters, and with the new Tenchi Muyo GPX series to air soon, the producers at Pioneer and AIC have created a new series based off one of the most popular (and under used) Tenchi Muyo characters.

Kiyone is a down on her luck cyber detective. Her partner is a total air head named Mihoshi. Mihoshi's father just happens to own the detective agency and Kiyone's main job is to keep his demanding daughter out of his hair. Also on the payroll are a mad scientist named Washu , a cyber hacker named Tenchi, a bored yet rich net surfer named Ayeka, and former virus-hunting program turned humanoid named Ryoko. Now the Kain virus has been freed by the evil Net Lord Kagato. All of the cyber world is doomed and the real world isn't looking much better! Can Kiyone and her crew stop the latest threat while keeping Mihoshi from asking her father for a raise?? Wait and see!
