NUMBER 10
BLAME!
STORY: The Megastructure is a giant, continuing evolving, cybernetic
hell of which there seems to be no escape. Silicone Creatures
roam its many levels, killing any humans they can find. Small
pockets of resistance are constantly trying to find a way out.
Cibo is one who is desperate to leave. If she can
find a human being that can interface with the Megastructure's
mainframe, she might be able to lead her people to freedom.
Killy is an adventure seeker, who is also looking for the same
thing. Each level he penetrates, puts him at the bottom of the
next one. The only thing he trusts is his trusty gun.
Why it should be a TV series. BLAME! has already become
a popular title on both sides of the Pacific Ocean, and this is the
un translated version. When the extremely short net based
anime came out, the fervor to watch it was intense. Sadly, the
DVD release is merely a prequel to the Manga, so a TV series to
bring creator Nehei's amazing story to life is essential!
Number of Episodes: 25. They could cover the first half
of the series, and if the ratings are high enough, they could commission
a second series, or even a movie!

NUMBER 9
GUNNM
STORY: In
a post apocalyptic future, a young Cyber Doctor named Ido finds
a broken cyborg girl in the rubble beneath the sky city of Zalem.
Excited by his find, Ido decides to rebuild her and gives her the
name of Gally.
In
Scrap Iron City, there is no law, no police. Hunter Warriors are
used as law enforcement. Whether it is to stop brain eating
cyborgs,
spine thieves, or other various criminals, they do their job, and
get paid very well for it. One night, Gally sees Ido sneaking
out of the house.
Worried
that he is a spine
thief,
she follows him. It is when he stops two brain eating cyborgs from killing
a young woman, that she discovers that
her savior is a hunter warrior. During the fight, Ido is wounded. When she
comes to his rescue, Gally's combat abilities are awakened. She quickly
kills one cyborg, and seriously injures the other. Enjoying the thrill of
the battle, she decides to follow in her mentor's footsteps, despite his
objections.
Why it should be a TV series. One of the earliest OVA
releases by ADV Films, this tale of young Gally and her quest to
find herself immediately struck a chord with viewers. The US
release of the Gunnm manga (Known as "Battle Angel Alita")
was also popular with American audiences. While the OVA still has
it's fans, it barely scratched the surface of this expansive universe.
Number of episodes: 50. The only way
to do Gunnm justice is to do the whole thing, all at once.
Using CG enhanced graphics could make this one of the most impressive
looking series ever made. It's a shame that James Cameron
bought all the rights to "Battle Angel", so chances
are this will never come to pass. Perhaps, he will be cool
enough to commission an anime version. |
NUMBER 8 (BURP)
GUNSMITH CATS
STORY: Rally Vincent and May
Hopkins are the owners of Gunsmith Cats, a small gun shop in
Chicago. They are also part time bounty hunters. Along with
their good friend Becky, these wild cats encounter everything, from psychotic
gangsters to drug dealing lesbians!
Why it should be a TV
Series. Like many people, I loved the three episode
OVA. I also loved the American release of the manga.
Besides, Kenichi Sonoda is a master at providing slick action with
hot babes, and Rally and May are both slick and hot. The OVA
was truly an original, as the story did not appear in the magna at
all. While I certainly understand the reason, I still would
have liked to watch the tale from the very start.
Number of episodes? 25. While Gunsmith Cat's
is a very long manga, many of the side stories would not be able to make
a full episode. While some of
these shorter tales would be eliminated, the gripping story line
involving Goldie, the drug dealing lesbian, would make this series an
even bigger fan favorite!

NUMBER 7
REIKA
STORY: In Los Angles in the year 2025, bounty hunter Surota is tracking down a
his latest bounty head when his target
manages to escape. Before he can even pick himself up, his
bounty head has already been captured by rival hunter, the
incredibly busty Reika.
When Surota attempts to confront Reika about cutting in on his
mark, they are attacked by a para military force, equipped with helicopters,
tanks, and a lot of ticked off mercenaries.
Why are they after them? Who is leading these guys.
Where is Reika's underwear?
Why it should be a TV Series. T&A anime are
always a winner. "Aika" and "Mouse" are two fine
examples of this genre, and Reika would certainly fit the bill. Who could not
enjoy the antics of a gun toting, big chested, motorcycle mama,
chasing down bad guys in the near future. The fact that she
doesn't wear panties, and she occasionally looses her clothes would
make this one great late night anime.
Number of episodes? 12. Reika was a one shot
manga,
so there really isn't enough story to bulk out to 25 episodes.
Besides, most T&A anime only last a limited number, because it
can get old after a bit.

NUMBER 6
SPRIGGAN
STORY: Yu is a Spriggan, a special agent for the secret organization
Achram. His job is to keep ancient, religious artifacts out
from the hands of unscrupulous individuals, would use them to
take over the world.
Why it should be a TV Series.
Spriggan is huge. "Akira" huge. Hell, it's
longer than "Akira" with 20 volumes to the six of "Akria"
(even taking in account how thick the "Akira" books
are). The "Spriggan" movie, while high on action,
barely dove into the whole story of Yu and his fellow Spriggans.
There is so much to the "Spriggan" universe, that only a
TV series can do it justice.
How many episodes? 150. You read that right.
It would take 3 years to tell this story. You could get every
single chapter in the series animated, and even give the writing
staff a chance to add in some more stuff, like they did with Rurouni
Kenshin.

NUMBER 5
CHRONOEYES
STORY: In 1999, young Taiki Saikou is on his way to
school when suddenly, a mysterious cowgirl appears in front of
him. While she is chasing after him, figures from different
times in history start to appear, all intent on capturing him.
He quickly learns that these people are not out to hurt him, but to
protect him from time criminals, intent on disrupting history.
The leader of the group, Anne, tells him that she and her
partners are Chronoeyes, a time police force sent to 1999, a nexus of temporal activity. They also inform
Taiki that his
house is going to be their base of operations!
Why it should be a TV series. Do you miss
"Flint: The Time Detective?". Well probably not, so
that's not the reason why "Chronoeyes" should grace our TV
screens. We chose "Chronoeyes" because it's an
entertaining, tongue and cheek series chock full of action and
adventure. Who here wouldn't like to work with a cowgirl, an
Egyptian priestess, a samurai, a cave girl, and a cute time agent?
Number of episodes: 25. Chronoeyes is not terribly
deep, but it is entertaining, so 25 episodes fits perfectly. |
NUMBER 4
VAMPIRE MASTER
STORY: From before the dawn of time people
("Crimsons") have been controlled by a deadly foe
("Clients") who think themselves as gods. Now, at the turn of
the twentieth century, the Crimsons still live in fear of the
Clients. Powerful individuals protect themselves by making
sacrificial offerings of live human beings.
Dark Hunter, Shion, is half-Crimson, half-Client - in other words a
vampire. With his loyal sidekick, Rain, he wages an endless war
against the Clients. When Shion meets Helen - a young girl whose
family were butchered by the Clients - he makes a blood oath and
takes Helen as one of his followers.
Why did Shion become a Dark Hunter? The mystery - hidden under the
tattoo on his chest - forces him into a horrendous battle.
Why it should be a TV series.
Vampires, nubile young women, and plenty action/sex. What couldn't
be better. Actually, Vampire Master is just a shade short of
being a hentai title, so it would mean that it would have to be
shown on satellite TV. While there is some cool action, the
rampant nudity and gratuitous sex scenes will make this one a
winner.
Number of episodes: 13. Like "Hellsing", a
shorter story length would help draw more interest into the
story. As the artwork is already attractive, 13 episodes will
give the animators more opportunity to make the anime look good. |
NUMBER
3
EXAXXION THE CANNON GOD
STORY: Many years ago, aliens called Riofaldians invaded the Earth. While
they promised to bring peace and prosperity, they actually became a
dictatorship, ruling the citizens not with fear, but carefully controlled
environments.
Punk kid Hoichi doesn't really like that the Earth is
subjugated, but nor does he really care. All he wants is to kick ass.
When his crazy and rich grandfather Houske decides that Hoichi is the
perfect instrument to wage war against the Aliens, he sends his
"assistant" Isaka to recruit him to pilot "Exaxxion",
a gigantic mobile suit with a huge gun!
Why it should be a TV series. Another entry by Kenichi
Sonoda, this one also has two things he excels at, beautiful women
and hot action. Why should Matsume Shiro have all the
luck? While it certainly isn't the deepest of stories, the
action, conspiracy stuff, and sexy ladies should keep everyone
happy.
Number of episodes: 25. Unlike "Gunsmith
Cats", Exaxxion isn't nearly as long, and the plots are not trebly
complex. Still, it does have enough to keep you
interested.

NUMBER 2
MAKEN X ANOTHER
STORY: Due to an accident at her father's scientific research
institute, Kay Sekami is forced to become the owner of Maken, a
sword with the power to capture human souls. With this power,
she must fight not only cyborg Nazi's and
demonic Communists, but their deepest, darkest creations.
Yet, with power comes the temptation for evil, and if she isn't
careful, she might become the very thing she is fighting against.
Why it should be a TV series. Like
"Blame!" Maken X Another" is a very different manga,
and a welcome change from some of the more average fare. Also,
there is tons of violence and mayhem to satisfy just about any gore
hound.
Number of episodes: 13. This series would be too
intense to go beyond 13. The amount of time and effort it
would take to match the raw artwork in this series would be very
tough for even the biggest of animation companies.

NUMBER 1
AKIRA

STORY:
In 1988, an explosion
rips through the heart of Tokyo. This explosion (believed to be an attack
by a foreign power), prompts an immediate response and starts World War III.
It is now 18 years later. Tokyo has become a monument to restoration.
With the Summer Olympics being held in Neo Tokyo, things (at least on
the surface) appear well. However, a growing feeling of discontent is
lurking in the shadows. Antigovernment groups are constantly holding rallies,
biker punks rule the streets, and a shadow group within the government
is conducting illegal genetic experiments on children.
One such experiment is biker punk Tetsuo, now known as number 41. After
a freak accident, he starts to develop psychic powers. While being experimented
on, his powers begin to expand, causing violent fits of rage, and uncontrolled
mental outbursts. Attempting to find out what is going on, he learns about
the first child experiment, Akira. Determined to find out the secret of
Akira and challenge his power, Tetsuo rages through Neo-Tokyo, leaving
a wide path of destruction in his wake.
There are only three people who can stop him. Kaneda, the leader of the
biker gang Tetsuo once belonged to, Kay, a member of the resistance movement,
and the Colonel, leader of the research team. The three of them race to
stop Tetsuo before he awakens Akira, and destroys the world! Why it
should be a TV series: Are you kidding?
"Akira" has long sense been a classic of anime and manga
for the last 20 years. Katsuhiro Otomo's amazing story has
long since captured the hearts of many fans, and the movie only
served to whet the appetites of many more. Yet, no one has
ever seen fit to bring this amazing story in a way that it should be
presented. You can't compress an epic manga like
"Akira" into a 2 hour 15 minute movie. It needs to
be, nay, must be animated on television!
Number of Episodes: 250+. You read that right. As
complex and involved as this manga is, it would take about 5 years
to do "Akira" right, including every single nuance and
plot line presented. If your going to do Akira, then you
must do it all!
