EXTERNAL EXAM

Music Professor Miyuki Hara is having trouble at her new job. She is constantly being bullied by three guys in her class. Keiko, another professor invites her over to her apartment to give her some advice on how to handle her students. Instead of finding help, Miyuki finds the bullies waiting for her at Keikos’ place, including the one most wanting her attention, Koh. After a few drinks, Miyuki loses control of herself and everything she does is photographed.

Now Miyuki is at the mercy of Keiko, Koh, and his friends. If she disobeys them, the entire school will know her secret decadent side.

DVD VISION TEST

VIDEO: The quality on the DVD is clear and crisp with no bleeds and smudges. The line edges are sharpened a little bit, but other wise nothing that would distract from the feature.

AUDIO: Standard 2.0 is used for the English dubbed and Japanese language with subtitles. Both tracks are clear and easy to listen to. The Japanese track has a little more volume to it, something that is more noticeable during those key sex scenes.

EDITS:As this is part of the Anime 18 Extreme Series, it should be safe to say that none of the questionable content has been edited.

EXTRAS: Extras include a trailer for Xtra Credit, a mini-film on the Anime art form, and a small gallery of screenshots, illustrations, and previews of other Anime 18 films.

WIDESCREEN REVIEW

STORY: This is another title devoted to the obsession of a sexy teacher and her ultimately conversion into a submissive nymphomaniac. The story is predictable, with Miyuki being abused by against her will while actually liking it. A simple plot that is nothing more than a showcases of situations that Miyuki is forced to endure as well as the audience.

ACTING: The voice actors for both the Japanese and English are done fairly well. Penny Candy does Miyuki with a voice that is not too squeaky, but not too low. Syndi Snackwell is deliciously vicious as Keiko. Her voice is a great opposite to Miyuki, whose orgasms overwhelm the entire film. Surprisingly, Fergus Lawless gives Koh some attractive appeal, and makes his character have the slight chance of being likeable.

In the Japanese track, Nao Fujishiro Miyuki is your standard high-pitched voice that rings the ears after constant yelling. Once again, Koh’s voice actor, Bakuhatsu Fuji, doesn’t give such a bad performance. His voice is heavier in volume than the English dubbed, giving him a more demanding and dominating presence.

SEX SCENES: Oral sex dominates here, showing up in every single sex scene. There is also missionary, doggie-style, light bondage with a rope, electrocution, dildo & vibrator use, one scene of double penetration, male ass play, and one brief scene of defecation that is surprisingly tame and thankfully short.

FINAL EXAM

When it was announced that Reiju Gakuen would be released by Anime 18, there was some anticipation for the title. The images of Miyuki ,on the cover, were beautifully done and the title did fairly well in its Japanese release 2002. After several viewings, Xtra credit offers two episodes of predictable storyline, less than interesting sex scenes, and animation with noticeable mistakes. If a person is a fan of the non-consensual genre of hentai, this title is not a shinning example.

The character designs are decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Not surprisingly, Miyuki is the most attractive out of all of the characters, quite beautiful to look at. The rest of the characters pale in comparison. The animation quality vaires from good to poor. It is smooth in certain scenes, but choppy in others, which makes it hard to be a turn on. The sex scenes are long, but the majority of the time, the parts that I want to see are covered up in black that matches the background, leaving only a white outline to show that there is anything there. So when Miyuki is performing oral sex on someone, we see her doing the deed, but the penis is totally invisible. Other times, the mans’ thigh is covering up the action. Teasing the audience like this is all right for a limited time. Then it starts to become boring and an annoyance.

To make things worse, the times when private parts are exposed, they have the most appalling genitals I have ever seen.

Another noticeable change in the DVD is that the English dub redirects Miyuki’s character into someone who wants sex all of the time. On the other hand, the Japanese track makes her the victim of abuse, who is crawling into something that she doesn’t want but has to accept for some reason.

Not very many curse words are said. The exception is the f-word is said a handful number of times. I’ve lost count of how many teacher puns are said in this title.

Compared to a title like Night Shift Nurses, the sex, bondage, and the one bathroom scene are all tame. Xtra Credit is hardly extreme, but it looks like any title with urine or scat will make the extreme series. This title is good at setting a mood, but fails to deliver with less than quality animation, covered up body parts, and hesitating when the characters could do more in places that are perfectly set up for experimenting. Xtra Credit is decent for a hentai title, but nothing compared to the shock value of Night Shift Nurses or the horrific and complicated Overfiend series. Overall, this is not a good title for those who want to be turned on or want shock value in their adult features. It certianly failed to do either for me.
